Alison Muller from South Africa writes:

Expensive!
Stayed in Tyrol accommodation. Toilet seat broken. One of the electric blankets on double bed not working. Foyer of Tyrol was flooded. Rooms are not serviced daily. I was told by the staff member on duty that they only serviced rooms every 3 days. No safe in rooms.
No wifi in rooms, only at the restaurant. Tyrol is walking distance to the restaurant. But I activated an eSim which solved the wifi problem, and Hotspot-shared it with my family. No TV in Tyrol. No hairdryer and helpful. Must make supper reservations to get a table.
Staff in restaurants, reception and retail stores all very friendly.
Would recommend the ski-ing lesson for beginners, that comes with kit hire, tube rides and bum board rides for the day. Expensive but worth it.
The ski-lift didn't work on the tube/bum board piste, was so the ticket wasn't fully utilized.
The ski-lift on the main ski piste was also not working.
The experience of driving through Lesotho via Sani Pass to Afriski, and then via Katse Dam on the outward journey made Afriski a nice 3 night stop over, but I wouldn't recommend a long stay over due to costs of accomodation and dining, lack of maintenance and lack of connectivity if it's something that is necessary.
But an holiday experience that we are glad we did!
