Visitor Reviews of Valle Nevado

Caio from Brazil writes:

Really good station with awesome slopes. I didn't stay on the hotel complex, just got up from Farellones hitchhiking, but can imagine the breathtaking views from their apartments.

The snow was slightly packed but still good quality in most of the tracks.

The tracks were fun, well signed and safe overall. Plenty of backcountry space. I would rate it as an intermediate-advanced skiing station.

The lifts were good and new in general. Avoid Prado and VaiVen which are really slow. Andes Express is definitely worth the way up.

The lines weren't a problem at all! It wasn't high season (late August) nor weekend so we basically had the lifts for ourselves.

The ski rental had really good quality equipment (I got one from this very season) but it was a bit too slow. I wonder how long does it take in high season. There is no storage for your shoes so you have to get a locker for around 5USD.

Bajo Zero, the main cafeteria had good service with decent options. A bit pricy as any mountain would be (around 15USD for a cheeseburger + soda + fries). The toilets were good and clean.

Staff was kind and helpful in general.

Access doesn't seem really safe, with really narrow roads from Farellones up, but apparently there aren't many accidents. During weekends they offer a van for free from Farellones but on weekdays there are only private transfers and you can also hitchhike (it's not hard).

==========================================================

O Andes Express definitivamente vale a subida.
