I skied Roccaraso a couple of years ago and was very surprised at how good it was/is. The hotel, the people, the food, the atmosphere were all very nice. Compared to many places in Europe and in the Americas it is not big but more than adequate for a 3 day weekend with good snow and terrain.
A mountain top restaurant like Club Mortizino, from the Corvarra Sella Ronda area, is about the only thing you will miss here. The 70's vibe is still alive in Roccaraso.
