Went to Penyfan yesterday (29/10/08) in the hope that there would be some snow on the peaks so that we could get a good few runs in. I called the Storey Arms centre before I left to check, the lady said that there is snow on top but not enough for sledging or skiing. But we decided to go anyway and check it out for ourselves. As we were driving up from Cardiff we caught our first glimse of the peaks which were covered in snow. We stopped at the carpark before you get to Storey Arms, and got our gear on an walked up. The walk up took us about an hour and a half, thats including loads of breaks. When we got to the top we were shocked at the amount of snow. We had a few runs and were over the moon. After about 20 mins the weather closed in and the snow started coming down. After about 2 hours of boarding we headed back down to the carpark, we snowboared about half the way down and went down parallel to the path we came up on. All in all, awesome day!!!!
