Visitor Reviews of Panorama Mountain Resort
Steve from Canada writes:
Skied Pano for the first time this year. Always perceived it to be a small, intermediate mountain, but was pleasantly surprised with the amount of black and double black runs for me while still lots of blue and green for the kids. A close second to Fernie, but for me it beats Louise and Sunshine hands down. Skied Whistler/Blackcomb a lot, but not for a while. If Pano gets some snow it could out do even these giants. Lots of vertical and numerous choices from just a few chair rides.
Snow has been sparse this year, but there's nothing the mountain can do about that. Tree tops poking through the snow don't hurt and I started enjoying my days a lot more when I stopped worrying so much about my bases. Found the snow making and grooming to be outstanding providing great alternatives on fast groomers when mother nature just hasn't come through for the glades and chutes. Go with the flow, your bases are disposable, each day only happens once!
I agree with the comments on the food service. We waited 30 minutes for a $7 hotdog (with a soggy bun). On a day when an event was occurring, the peasants (i.e. lift ticket buying public) were directed to other restaurants for service. Could have gone home for a better/cheaper/faster lunch. The restaurant was good and not much more expensive. We went directly there the next day we skied. Next time we'll probably pack a lunch.
The snowfall returned today and is expected to continue through the long weekend. Looking forward to exploring the mountain more with the new snow revealing its potential. Hopefully, the grumpy people will stay home.
