I have skied all over Europe and north America and you cannot beat the French Alps. That is why it receives more tourists than anywhere in the world. That's why I teach hundreds of Yanks to ski every season who hate skiing in America, and there are some who should not come back with your racist attitude, the lift workers here are some of the best trained in the Alps and it is some guests who need education in manners, (if I went to the UK and just spoke French what kind of reception do you think I would get)

As for the skiing, Megeve, as with Courchevel, is one of the more expensive resorts in France and is on an average altitude for a ski resort but it is one of the biggest around and is excellent for all types of skiers, good restaurants and bars make it a favourite destination for many who return year after year,please come and experience it for yourselves and do try to learn the lingo as you will be respected for doing so, and if you're a typical British/Irish tourist go to Chamonix or Tignes or stay at home.
