My future wife and I stumbled across Lez Carroz 15 years ago. It is one of the friendliest resorts in Europe. After skiing around Europe we have returned on many occasions to Les Carroz with our children as it has one of the best ski schools in France. The new 8 person high speed lift system whisks you to a 266Km ski area within minutes. A choice of 4 villages for lunch; Morrilon, Samoens, Flaine or Les Carroz. Higher up you have the powder bowls of Flaine and spectacular views of Mont Blanc. There are easy blues from the highest points so all the family can enjoy the whole resort with blues from the top turning into beautiful tree lined runs. If you drive, the great organisational skills of the local police will help you get parked up as close as possible to the lifts. It also has a regular free bus service to the hotels and the accommodation on the outskirts of the village. There is free floodlit skiing twice a week and all the restaurants serve families. There is not much in the way of nightlife with only a few bars around the square getting busy early evening. All in all, this resort serves families and those wanting a quieter friendlier resort.
