Visitor Reviews of Cypress Mountain

MCBrown from CANADA writes:

Cypress is great. I was up there a couple days ago (boxing day). I went up with my cousin at 2.30pm just hoping to rip some groomers and get some laps in the park. First... you park rats will definitely be disappointed. There were like 3 eaaaaaaaasy flat boxes set up and one small-medium kicker and that's it!!!! Funny thing is there were like 6 park crew guys in the park.. make any sense?
Anyway, after 4 or 5 runs they finally opened the sky chair (top of the mountain). by this time it was dark out except for the lights. Totally took me by surprise but the sky chair had not been open all day so there was practically untouched knee deep pow up top!! I have never shredded fresh powder at night and let me tell you, it's amazing!
All in all Cypress is great. In previous years their park has been way bigger/better, lets hope they get crackin' on that soon. I was pretty much born and raised on Cypress even though I don't ride it often anymore (I'm a Mt Washington local now: way better park and way better terrain) I'd give Cypress 4/5 stars.

Opening next winter (and already under construction) are 9 NEW RUNS located on Black Mountain for HIGH LEVEL INTERMEDIATE and EXPERT Skiers and Riders which will be accessed by a newly located QUAD CHAIR. This will be the first major expansion of terrain on the North Shore since Sky Chair was opened in 1987!

Sunrise Quad Chair will be replaced with the NEW high speed detachable “THE LIONS EXPRESS” QUAD CHAIR that will wisk our skiers and riders to the top in about 4 minutes!

Another project already under construction is the NEW DAY LODGE, scheduled to open in 2008 and will be located between the 2 main chairlifts (The Eagle Express and The New Lions Express Quad Chairs).

This Summer will also see the completion of the Freestyle Skiing and Snowboarding Venues for the 2010 Winter Olympic Games, including a state of the art Snowmaking system. Next winter you will see the start of the excitement as Cypress Mountain will host the Freestyle Skiing FIS World Cup and a NorAm Snowboarding Event! We hope that all of our guests will be able to come and enjoy these events at Cypress Mountain and cheer on our Canadian Athletes competing on their home turf at Cypress Mountain and setting their sights on 2010!

Stay tuned for special offers and 2007/08 Winter Season Pass Information! Passes will be on sale in the next few weeks! Don't miss your chance to be part of the excitement!
