Tignes has unveiled one of its most exciting lift upgrade in years: a new six-seater chairlift serving the legendary Aiguille Percée sector, now fully operational for winter 2025–26.

Travelling at six metres per second and carrying up to 2,800 skiers per hour, the high-speed lift slashes access time to one of the resort’s most iconic freeride zones—home to dramatic terrain, deep snow, and the famous rock arch that featured in Candide Thovex’s recent viral video descent.

Replacing the older quad installed two decades ago, the new chairlift completes a two-year transformation of the southern lift network, following last season’s overhaul of the Marais chair. For freeriders, it’s a game-changer: faster laps, more vertical, and easier access to the natural bowls and steeps that make Aiguille Percée a bucket-list destination.

The lift’s modern design, built by Poma, includes improved wind resistance and ergonomic seating, ensuring comfort and reliability even in exposed conditions. With the Tignes–Val d’Isère link opening on 29 November, skiers can now reach some of the area’s most exciting terrain with minimal delay.
