Australia Ski Resort Summer Operations Update

It remains firmly the off-season across Australia’s ski resorts, with warm summer conditions dominating and no natural snowfall reported. Resorts continue to focus on lift maintenance, infrastructure upgrades and summer tourism activities.

Snowmaking systems are fully shut down, and base areas are operating hiking, mountain biking and sightseeing activities instead.

No snowfall is forecast. Temperatures remain well above freezing at all elevations, with dry, settled summer weather prevailing.

New Zealand Ski Season Preparation Report

New Zealand’s ski areas are also deep into the Southern Hemisphere summer, with no snow cover present on slopes. Resorts are concentrating on terrain improvements, lift servicing and accommodation upgrades ahead of the 2026 winter season.

Glacier ski areas remain closed, with access limited to sightseeing flights and alpine tours.
