SMITH QUANTUM SKI HELMET REVIEW

SMITH QUANTUM £259.99 www.smithoptics.com EDITOR’S CHOICE
The Smith Quantum features a hybrid shell construction with a MIPS system along with an impact-resistant Koroyd inner, providing excellent protection. You also get Smith’s ‘Aerocore’ design to allow better airflow through the helmet – I used a Quantum all last season and only really overheated on a warm, sunny day of backcountry skiing where we were doing as much hiking as riding.
And that’s without mentioning the 22 adjustable air vents which further help with keeping things cool (the front vents are adjusted independently of the rear and vice versa).
Everything is kept in place with a fully adjustable Boa FS360 dial fit system, which is quick and simple to operate, along with Smith’s ‘Wayfinder’ chin strap system, which uses a Fidlock buckle which can be operated with one hand.
The lining is designed to wick away sweat, and the ear pads are compatible with Outdoor Tech audio systems, all giving a really excellent, good looking albeit expensive lid.
