Taos Ski Valley, nestled high in New Mexico’s Sangre de Cristo mountains, is celebrating its 70th anniversary this winter with a flurry of upgrades and offers designed to make the resort more accessible, inclusive and even more environmentally friendly.
“At its core, Taos Ski Valley delivers the rare combination of world-class big mountain skiing and a deep connection to New Mexican culture, hospitality, and cuisine – creating a ski vacation unlike anywhere else,” says CEO John Kelly.
Originally built in 1984, Lift 7 has been replaced with a new triple chair, offering smoother access to the regraded Maxie’s run — a favourite among intermediate skiers. The upgrade is part of a broader push to improve on-mountain flow and terrain quality.
Among a long list of initiatives for the upcoming season, Taos’s popular Women’s Ski Week, previously a once-per-season event, will now run three times across the winter: 14–19 December, 25–30 January, and 22–27 February. The programme, led by female instructors, is designed to build confidence and camaraderie on the slopes.
Taos Ski Valley remains the only Certified B Corporation® ski resort in North America — and one of just two worldwide. Since 2021, it has operated as a CarbonNeutral® certified business, with a bold goal to reach Net Zero emissions by 2030. The resort’s commitment to regenerative tourism is matched by its cultural authenticity and community-driven ethos.
To honour the seven decades since its 1955–56 founding, Taos is offering $70 lift tickets through 17 December 2025 — a saving of nearly 66 percent. Taos is also part of both the Mountain Collective and Ikon Pass programmes.
