Double Donations To Protect Our Winters (POW) For Week From 22 April

Protect Our Winters (POW) will take part in the Big Give Earth Raise campaign from 22–29 April, and has secured match‑funding for its new youth climate initiative on donations received during the week.

Big Give Earth Raise is a national, week‑long fundraising programme that supports environmental charities by doubling public donations through pledged match funds.

POW UK has confirmed that the first £5,000 raised during the campaign will be fully match‑funded, creating what the organisation describes as a rare opportunity to double the impact of supporter contributions.

Funds will go towards launching POW UK Changemakers, a programme designed to deliver accredited Carbon Literacy Training to 50 young adults aged 18–29 from marginalised communities. The training aims to equip participants with climate knowledge, communication confidence and practical action plans to influence climate‑focused decisions in their workplaces and local areas.

POW UK says the match‑funding window will be crucial in helping build a more diverse and empowered climate movement. The organisation is encouraging supporters to donate or share the campaign when it opens next week, noting that all contributions made during the Earth Raise period will be doubled.
