Arizona Snowbowl kicked off their 2025–26 winter season at noon on Thursday, 20 November, opening a day ahead of schedule thanks to a powerful storm that dropped 37 inches (almost a metre) of snowfall since Sunday. More natural snowfall and snowmaking are expected throughout the week, giving the resort strong early-season momentum.
“This storm gave us a phenomenal start, and opening early is a thrilling way to welcome skiers and riders back,” said marketing manager Angie Grubb. “Snowbowl is known for long, reliable seasons, and this week’s snowfall sets us up perfectly for winter.”
Opening week terrain includes Spur Catwalk, Frontier, Lower Bowl, Log Jam, Wild Turkey, and Round Up, all served by the Arizona Gondola. Conditions currently favour advanced skiers and riders, with more terrain and lifts to follow as weather allows.
Festivities begin later today at 9 a.m. local time at the gondola base, featuring free donuts, coffee, hot chocolate, live music, and giveaways. Agassiz Lodge will provide dining and retail, while Hart Prairie Lodge offers guest services and rentals.
Snowbowl will operate daily from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. through late spring, weather permitting. Lift tickets start at $19 on select dates, with free unlimited skiing available for children 12 and under via the Power Kids Pass.
Following a record 185-day season last year, the resort has invested nearly $1.5 million in upgrades, including improved snowmaking, terrain enhancements, new rentals, expanded Wi-Fi, refreshed dining, and other guest-focused improvements.
