One of the biggest winter sport spectator events on skis returns to the French Alps next week with the Biathlon World Cup taking place from December 15-21 in Le Grand-Bornand.
The Organising Committee, supported by a record 1,000+ volunteers, alongside local residents and around 60,000 biathlon fans from around the world, are ready to welcome the only French leg of the BMW IBU Biathlon World Cup to the picturesque village in the Annecy/Aravis region. The fan numbers rival those for the biggest event in alpine skiing and Austrian sport, Kitzbuhel's Hahnenkamm next month.

With six successful editions since 2013, the village in the Haute-Savoie region has established itself as an essential stop on the international circuit.
Le Grand-Bornand will welcome fans to the Sylvie Becaert stadium, including more than 3,500 schoolchildren, where 300 athletes, including the members of the French team, will perform.
“Ahead of the competition, all the teams, services and service providers are joining forces with remarkable energy to ensure the smooth running of this international competition, once again demonstrating the resort’s high standards in organising top-level cultural and sporting events,” a spokesperson for the organisers commented.
