The FBI have offered a $10m reward for information leading to the arrest of a former Olympic snowboarder who is now accused of drug dealing and multiple murders.
Canadian-born Ryan Wedding, who competed in the giant slalom snowboarding competition during the 2002 Salt Lake City Winter Olympics, finishing 24th, is now on the FBI's Ten Most Wanted Fugitives list for drug trafficking and allegedly organising multiple murders of rival drug dealers.
"Wedding went from shredding powder on the slopes at the Olympics to distributing powder cocaine on the streets of U.S. cities and in his native Canada," Akil Davis, the assistant director of the FBI's Los Angeles Field Office, said in a statement.
"The alleged murders of his competitors make Wedding a very dangerous man, and his addition to the list of Ten Most Wanted Fugitives, coupled with a major reward offer by the State Department, will make the public our partner so that we can catch up with him before he puts anyone else in danger."
Acting U.S. Attorney Joseph T. McNally said at a press conference that Ryan Wedding, “...led a transnational criminal organization that murdered innocent people and put thousands of kilograms of narcotics on our streets."
