Trostian is the most difficult and extreme resort; we cannot compare it with Bukovel, where you have everything prepared, you can ski with your eyes closed and without any effort. After a day of skiing on Trostian your legs will burn, there are no comfortable lifts. This resort is not for the weak, you need to be too strong to be satisfied there. Buka, like most resorts, is a mass market created for weak people who cannot survive without comfort. But Trostian has much more incredible gifts for you than Buka, and you will have to make an effort to find them all.
Go to Bukovel. Do not waste your time. Slopes are not prepared.
Trosnyan: No toilets :D, seriously. Service = 0.
Prices: $20 per day (1 person sit lift + ski-lift).
Transfer to ticket window: $10 one way to rail station.
Food: $5+
Snow cannons are a must for this climate zone. Slavske does not have any. Go there if you like riding ice, grass and mud.
Shittiest lifts ever, especially for snowboard.
But it's cheap (not the lifts) and it's easy to get there.
The only chairlift is worth seeing; the funniest thing I've ever seen.
There is the most extreme mountain in Ukraine on "Trostian" hill !!! It is wild as is earth done it. Not for weak people, because some people which already gone skiing(boarding) several seasons at other hill (like Bukovel) which was prepared to it, can nothing to do on "Trostian". They always weep :"I am tired, I can not to skiing(boarding) here, it is too extreme for me, i can not on the yoke, etc..." Strong by spirit people go there you will not regret.
I've been a couple of times in Slavske (and Bukovel).
In Slavske skiing is as basic as it can get!
Zahar Berkut is for beginners, Trostian not at all!
Positive:
the atmoshere is nice.
friendly people
very cheap comparing to European resorts and Bukovel
it has a train station with direct connections to Kyiv, Lviv and other cities
food is nice, Babushka's selling nice GluhWein and Shaslik on the slopes.
accommodation is good.
Negative:
no snow making
no facilities
slopes not prepared so can be bumpy and icy
lifts very old (Trostian) and slow (Zahar Berkut)
If you want to learn skiing it's fine! If you want serious skiing go to Bukovel.
Slavsko is an excellent place for those who wants to admire beautiful nature and ski at low prices. I recommend to visit "Zahar Berkut", that has decent infrastructure, different skiing slopes for novices and for experienced skiers and reasonable prices.
Slavsko is cheap but has no infrastructure.
Lifts has more than 30 years and can break at any time.
The rescuers can arrive too late to help you.
Slavsko was a good resort in 1980-1990.
