Once again this gem has brought me back in time with their amenities but the snow conditions are very real. It's the first stop on my powder highway located east of Hope on Highway 3 which leads to the Kootenays!
An unadvertised "Hostel" is located across the road from lodge. Great place to call home for a couple of epic powder days at Manning.
2for1 Tuesdays, an ice rink, spa/jacuzzi, and you cannot miss the Bears Den Pub for the $10 beer/burger apres-ski.
Live 20 minutes from Mount Washington road but I would rather pay the ferry cost and gas and go to Manning Park for 3 days each winter. It is a special place. I guess I luck out because this year we went in January and had fresh powder and sunshine. We always rent a cabin. My only complaint is the late check in time. Otherwise, the place is a gem.
First time to Manning for our family, kids 4, 7, 9,& 11. Well maintained runs, beginner runs were consistent from top to bottom. Bunny hill was long and gentle. Nice blue runs and some good powder runs for Dad. Parking right at the lifts. No line ups. Nice helpful staff. Youngest spent the day in child care and received two lessons and was well taken care of! Everything was neat, clean and functional. Didn't do the tubing, but looked like there was lots of fun being had. Didn't know about all the RV parking spots, great idea. Views were spectacular and the snow was exceptional. Enjoyed the day, we will be back!
Another season has come and almost gone! Not yet though, with late March powder days and rays of sun in the late afternoons. Much appreciated effort by the mountain staff to keep the Orange Chair going after the whoopsy mid winter.
Great work on the Nordic trails, lots of skating on the outdoor rink, WiFi now at the Lodge and as always the Hostelacross the highway kept us warm and dry with great people hosting and only a few guests even on the weekend.
Best kept secret in the Coast Range, shhhh.

Manning Provincial Park is a jewel. With it's eastern orientation, it is blessed with sheltered powdery snow and sunshine. The staff are happy and friendly, the setting beautiful, the management is clearly working hard at keeping customers happy with lots of options in the park and resort. Highway 3 is convenient and well maintained, as is the ski hill road. The food is delicious, the accommodations charming, and at the end of the day, a game of pickup hockey or a relax in the pool awaits. It is a perfect place to bring family and friends.
We were at Manning Park the weekend of Jan. 24, 2014, from Vancouver.
We so enjoyed our weekend!
Manning is an enchanting winter wonderland! The downhill skiing was stupendous - sunshine, a variety of runs, snow, no ice, and a charming bus driver accompanied by great music! Going up the mountain in that cute, little school bus, I couldn't help but think "It doesn't get any better!"
We love to go to Manning at least once or twice a year, for downhill skiing, and this year (2013 Dec) we decided to go up early and all were anxious to get up on those skis and boards. First of all, when we arrived we found out that we couldn't use our discounts from our season's passes; very disappointed but still anxious to get up there and ride. We found that the lines for rentals and ticket sales were very slow as the one teller was always interrupted by instructors and whoever, so the line up wasn't moving (one interruption by someone, in a red jacket, held us up for 10 minutes while they were looking at paper work and no one was processed). Very ticked off with this poor management of receiving guests who wanted to be on the slopes. Definitely will not be renting from your mountain but will rent from somewhere else so I don't have to be in that poor, slow lineup. Maybe you should hire another person for the interruptions for thought.
After paying full price and getting on the hill, found out that a lot of the runs were closed that we wanted to access. There should have been a discount for that alone. When paying $50 per person and a lot of runs are closed you are forced to ride blue. Don't you think a discount would have been appreciated?
Otherwise, the mountain was good. Will not be visiting any time soon due to wasted time in rental line ups and no discount for a mountain that doesn't have a reasonable amount of black runs open (this should be noted on your web site.)
[note from the editor: Snocountry provides the snow reports but we also aim to enrol staff/local 'Resort Managers' for each ski area.]
I love Manning, learned to ski there in the early 90s. Great snow, great staff and it's great to see it owned by people who know the resort business. The Demers family will do very well here.
Can't wait for opening day!
Manning Park has new owners....:), new grooming machines, updated lift maintenance and an early forecast for a lot of snow! The cheapest ski pass in BC, and on Fridays you got to be there for "Powder" Blue Chair Days.
