22nd Feb 2009. No snow all week at Le Corbier but an abundance of sunshine. Awesome ski weather overall, but the lack of snow meant that the runs into Le Corbier were terrible. Luckily, most slopes in the Seybelles region run easily onto off-piste, meaning that you can have a run which is the same steepness as the piste but with better snow back into the resort - this definitely deteriorated later in the week though. All in all, the skiing was great; lot's to explore with really fun long runs. Expert skiers may find it less interesting, although the off-piste skiing was fantastic - really wide runs, often with moguls to give you a challenge. Lots of blue runs, a long blue into one of the villages, and Toussuire has a variety of runs to keep you busy for a day - check out "Snack Bar" whilst you're there - great food. Great long blue run from top of Corbier (turn left) but beware of lunching at the village at the bottom - service is shocking and slow. Hotel Mont Corbier was great - def better than a 2*. Staff were friendly and the food was great. However, the ski equipment was questionable as they appeared to run out of skis (a number of our party had skis which were too short/long). Plus, they only have Salomon boots which makes it difficult if that make of boots do not fit your foot shape. The rooms at the hotel were spacious and perfectly fine. The bar was cosy. This was lucky as that's where we spent most evenings; the apres-ski in Le Corbier is practically non-existent. If you want some kind of apres-ski then check out Gotcha Bar - very cheesy; you have been warned. They have schoolchildren in the hotel, but the staff manage them very well - meal times for the children are earlier and, apart from passing them in the corridor and a couple of time where they had Karaoke in the bar, you hardly see them. Summary: good skiing, loved the off-piste, skiing in Le Corbier itself was terrible (dreaded the journey back everyday) but the other villages have much better snow and loads of sunshine, hotel was great and fantastic value. Great for a one-off visit and a cheap/reasonable priced holiday. Fingers crossed for more snow if you are visiting the resort in the near future.

We arrived at Le Corbier on the 18th January to fresh snow. It snowed again on 20th, 22nd and 23rd. In all about 40cm of the adorable stuff. At the top of the village is the Le Mont Corbier where we stayed. A small attractive hotel which specialises in school parties. We were not and it can get a little noisy on arrival. I guess we were all young once and what larks to be away from your parents. The pistes are maintained well and the runs are varied. All the runs on the Le Corbier section of the area return to a bowl in front of the main apartment blocks bars and restaurants. My criticism is that with 5 runs converging on to the main novice area it can be disconcerting for beginners with boarders and skiers whizzing around you. There is a lot of off-piste skiing when the top of the mountain is accessible. Due to the heavy snow it was closed for three days due to avalanche risks. The boarders then are in abundance on Le Corbier runs and this is when we noticed injured skiers/boarders being stretchered off the mountain. A coincidence maybe? The pistes are not very well marked and it takes a few days to work out where to go on the mountain. As I said, we had so much snow that the piste skiing was fun and our group enjoyed some piste skiing in very deep powder. This proved interesting and hilarious for some in the group who were 2nd time skiers. We did not use ski school but generally people were not pleased as the instructors did not speak much English and some complained of their impatience with beginners, so much so that a number dropped out. We hired the ski equipment through SnowBrainer before going and received a 40%discount. The equipment was provided by SkiSet in LeCorbier and was new this season. The fitter matched the boots and equipment up to peoples ski outfits and I must say, was of the very best standard. There is not a lot going on apart from the skiing and if in a group then you can make your own apres-ski. I would not rush back next year as we all want to experience other resorts, but for the skiing I would definitely return. Equity ski who arranged our trip are obliging and efficient and the price is very competitive. If you go have the steak hache at the mid station on the terrace overlooking the valley, you will not have a better view anywhere. Have fun.

Le Corbier is an absolutely fantastic family ski resort. Superb slopes, great hospitality and no fuss - highly recommended family ski resort. With over 300km's of slopes, it's the best kept secret in the Alps.

Le corbier was a great place to ski with lots of wide slopes. Good for both intermediates and beginners. We stayed at the Le Mont Corbier hotel. The food and accommodation were excellent. Looking forward to going back.

Le Corbier is a fantastic ski resort for intermediates and beginners alike. The slopes are wide and uncrowded with no lift queues! The resort also connects to other resorts in Les Sybelles valley, which the lift pass covers. The lift system is a little dated but perfectly functional and adequate. One small criticism is that the pistes are not particularly well marked which was very confusing at times, so keep the piste map handy! Le Corbier itself is a fairly small place, not as commercialised and expensive as some resorts, with all the shops and restaurants based at the bottom of the pistes. The nightlife seems quiet although there is a nightclub and there are a few bars. We stayed at the Equity run 'Le Mont Corbier' and had a fantastic time - highly recommended!!

Le Corbier is a vibrant, friendly and expanding resort. Whilst being a good safe family resort with no through traffic it also appeals to the younger generation with plenty of ski, surf and things to do. Reasonable prices and cheap accomodation available. Well maintained pistes and good off piste conditions for the more adventurous. A fantastic place!
