Now I'm in Krushevo for first time and believe me, here really is excellent. A lot of museums and very friendly people. I have the idea to come here again in the summer.

While it is not developed as the ski resort of Mavrovo or Popova Sapka, Krusevo has a lot of charm. Most importantly it is the highest town (1300m) in the Balkans. It is a small town with a population of 3000. The view on Pelagonia Region where the two middle size cities, Prilep and Bitola, are located, is amazing. This town was one of the best ski resorts in the Balkans long time ago (1970-1980) and the people here have long tradition of skiing and ski-running. There was only 1 two seat lift and 2 standing ski-lifts then and that's it; they are stil here. Nothing since then, no new investment. This is too bad because the town is beautiful, and of great historical significance to Macedonia. It is here that the Macedonians rose up against the Turks in 1903 and form first Republic in the Balkans. There is great potential for serious investitors because there is a lot of high and very clean mountains with lots of snow every year and great natural resorts for alpine skiing near the town. Krusevo is 15 minutes drive from Prilep and 2 hours from Skopje. If you are interested please visit this magic town with wonderful arhitecture (similar lake Ohrid)and great potential to become one of the best ski resorts in the country like in old days.
