A lot of improvements since the first time I've been here in 2011. New gondola lift, full renovated chair lifts, more hotels, a 24/7 super market & cafe, gas station and the most important artificial snow for the really hard times without snow. More on piste skiing slopes and a wide range of free-ride slopes with good quality powder at its best. What else can a recreational skier ask for?

Hi folks, All reviews about Gudauri are far away from reality; all things have been changed since 2011. Resort has now: cheapest ski pass price to compare it to EU resort, artificial snow, new hotels, wifi etc.

Visited Feb 2011 Pro: fantastic nature, good cuisine Cons: we were 10 persons and have fun all together. There are very few places to go out in the evening and not cheap. Services: big hotels are ok with services for their prices. But small and more cheap hotels...it depends. Just read reviews on their site gudauri.info Accommodation: we have found family-hotel by ourselves. Sent a mail to the owners, then call and at the end have discount 10% - essential for 10 days for 10 people:) The phones and emails of the owners of hotel and apartments we found here gudauri.ru/list.php?c=hotels

Pro: Visited this resort season 2011. Nature - just your dream. Lovely people. Cheap prices (around Gudauri) Cons: No snow NY 2010-2011 Services in Gudauri are far from the ideal for the prices they want. If want to be happy be ready to pay a lot of money Accommodation: We lived in small family hotel. Price was above 50usd per person and I was really unhappy. Small breakfast, small dinner, every evening need to go out to be full. Shabby rooms from USSR times. It's better to pay a little more and live in big hotel, like Freerider hotel . At least you will have excellent HB and high level of services. Information: Information about resort and accommodation(with phones, emails etc) at the site of resort gudauri.ru .

August 27, 2011 in Gudauri first snow fell, fell asleep Mount Sadzele, Gogibashvili and Red Mountain. Old-timers say that it usually happens in late September and expect a lot of snow in season 2011 - 2012. gudauri.travel/news/novosti-gudauri/piervyi-sniegh-gudauri-2011.html

Feb 2010 in Gudauri. Resort/hotel facilities adequate if a bit grim but fabulous skiing. Great snow, well groomed. No queues, great views, big vertical.

The good: Gudauri has very good slopes (16km total) and predominantly, in months of February, March and beginning of April, very good weather conditions. During the working days relative small amount of people are on the slope, so you can ski without obstructions. Ski lift costs 15$ per day and hotel costs start from 30$ per person/day. On Saturday you can join the night ski on first slope. The Cons: Gudauri has relatively bad developed infrastructure, very few night events.

Gudauri is great. However, the season at Gudauri could start a little earlier and finish later. Love it.
