Bozeman local here (moved from Vermont 6 months ago).
I must say I don't see the hype about Bridger. Slow lifts (that don't even go to the top of the mountain so you have to hike to the top), gets tracked out really fast and way too many people (I only ski on weekends). Plus, you have to have a transceiver to go over to Slashman's (which is where all the gnarliest lines are) and they don't even have signs telling you that.
I definitely prefer Big Sky.
Okay, Bridger Bowl rocks (20+ years skiing here). But I want to point out the inaccuracy of the bottom elevation listed in the information. If you are at 1499ft, you are underground. Also, the closest airport is Gallatin Field in Bozeman/Belgrade-not Helena as the info states. Fly into Bozeman and shred the pow.

Community owned and located a half hour from downtown Bozeman, Montana; Bridger Bowl is a Rocky Mountain Classic. Bridger is characterized by a devoted core of locals, cold smoke Montana powder and terrain rich with granite features, hidden stashes, steep trees and lots of nooks and crannies. 2009 marks a historic year for Bridger Bowl with the first lift served expansion in 30 years. The Schlasman chairlift opens a new world of terrain opportunities.
In addition to the new lift all the boundaries at Bridger opened up. Bridger Bowl used to be the little mountain that skied big. Now with the Schlasman lift and the open boundaries Bridger just got huge. Bridger Bowl is excellent at promoting avalanche awareness, safety and research and has one of the most respected ski patrols. Bridger’s lift tickets and season passes are a great value and it lacks the ritzy on-hill development that can sap the soul out of an area.
It is a whole new ball game at Bridger Bowl. The Schlashman lift and open boundaries just changed the game at Bridger. The first new lift in the Bridger range in 30 years. Bridger was always the little mountain that skied big, not anymore, this mountain is large. The best expansion in South West Montana since Moonlight Basin.

Bridger Bowl is a very fun hill that has a lot to offer those of any ability: lower mountain and Alpine lift well suited for beginners, mid-mountain and most lifts will keep intermediates happy, while upper PK and Bridger lifts and their corresponding hikes up the ridge will give rippers 'permagrin'.
When the cold smoke comes, Bridger Bowl goes off but can get tracked up pretty quick as there is a large and hardcore local scene here. Speaking of which, the local scene is great as attitudes are positive and mellow with lots of snow stoke regardless of stick persuasion.
One downside to Bridger Bowl for snowboarders is the amount of traversing/side-hilling required to get to some of the sick or powder stash areas off of Bridger lift and PK lift, but there's nothing one can do about it but deal with it.
PowderHound package is the best deal out there, pretty tough to pass up 4 days/nights for ~$200 with freeway access to Bozeman.
