I went to Arabba for the first time over New Year 2011. Conditions were excellent - 40/180cm base, blue skies everyday and consistent cold temperatures. I agree with many reviews here - the mountain scenery is stunning, blue / red cruising heaven, fantastic food, mainly Italian skiers, charming village, good tree runs and vast terrain to ski.
Highlights were the hidden valley run and Marmolada glacier. Go directly from Arabba in the morning as it takes quite a long time to get there - worth two runs on a clear day.
Only negative point is that runs back to resort are reds (and the only icey slopes I went down all week) - too difficult for some of the skiers in our group. Stick to the blues in Alta Badia and get a taxi / bus home.
I'll would definitely go back again - there is so much more to do. One of my favourite European resorts to date.
Arabba is, in my mind, one of the best places for off-piste skiing because of the the landscape in Dolomiti!
I am very enjoy to go back to Arabba for the third time!
Arabba is a high up resort in the Dolomites, always lots of snow, on the Sella Ronda circuit, so giving access to endless skiing - some through trees, others wide, lots of challenging runs. Incredibly sceanic! We travel here every ski season with a small company called simplydolomiti. I highly recommend skiing in the Dolomites and in particular Arabba if you seek a smattering of good restaurants but not full on apres-ski. Enjoy!
Just came back from Arabba on 25th Jan. Loads of powder. Stopped at Alpen Rose again; great hotel and staff who treat us as old friends. If you love skiing you must visit this place (Arabba) once and I bet you will return. It's a hidden gem.

Have just returned from the Dolomites and Arabba. The village is stunning and unspoiled; I am just contemplating returning and the prospect of more powder is great. I went with Collett's Mountain Holidays as I didn't want to travel with a large company. I found their approach excellent and friendly. The locals at Arabba are fun and welcoming. I must recommend Café Peter; the owners are the perfect hosts for apres-ski beer without all the disco lights.

On the 2nd January 09 will visit Arabba for probably the 6 or 7th time in the last 14 years. It is the most amazing resort I have been to and I have skied many resorts. I have also been to Caniza and Campitelo but this is by far the best resort in Europe.
I will keep on going.
My wife and I have been all over Europe--France, Switzerland, Austria, Italy, and quite a few places in the states. You can't miss this one!!! The Sella Ronda circuit ranks in our Top 5 Best Places to ski in the world. Do the circuit on a clear day and you'll know why.

Just returned from Honeymoon in Arabba, this is a little gem hidden away from the more popular resorts of Cortina and Selva. It is linked to the Sella Ronda in both directions and has wonderful ski-ing in the neighbouring resorts of Corvara and Val de Fassa. The scenary is like no other I have experienced in over 20 years of ski-ing. Snow is always good our first week was mainly on artificial snow from extensive snow cannons, with 90% of runs open. The second week it dumped over a Metre of new snow and the powder and off piste was superb. Please go to this wonderful resort, however be aware apre-ski is limited.
Arabba is a lovely high altitude resort. The accommodation is excellent. The skiing area is huge. Watch out for the trip up to the glacier where you will encounter 3 cable cars and long queues. Ski the Sella Ronda clockwise and anticlockwise but make sure you book a day out for each. The only down side is that there are not enough places to eat it has a distinct lack of restaurants. But Arabba itself is a very quaint town. Definitely worth a visit!!
Hello !
My first experience with Arabba is dated aprox. 11 years ago, when I visited this beautiful place at the first time and from that time I 'must' visit Arabba, at least once per season !
Why ? Because the nature, location, slopes and all other related things are ideal for skiing and enjoying winter time. You can find slopes for a different ski knowledge. Connections with the other skiing areas united in a large 'Dolomiti superski' system are perfect and they are gives huge possibilities to travel arround on skiis. I`ll be back !
Best regards,
