Just returned from Andalo yesterday.
I have to agree with another reviewer 100 %.
Nice resort.
Good snow. Lots of families. Very good food.
Good prices, nice people.
Not very many English speaking tourists. The staff spoke English well enough..
Lots of hotels. I stayed 5 km north in Molvado and 5 km south of Fai Paganella.
Hotels were great and great food. Very reasonable prices.
Have a second home close by and ski here regularly.
Not sure about the gay ski capital of Italy anymore? I notice everywhere an emphasis on families and couples.
The skiing is ideal for beginners and intermediates and links with Fai Della Paganella. Well maintained pistes and organised infrastructure to provide an enjoyable day.
Madonna di Campiglio is close by if you want a change of scenery.

I have just returned from a ski trip in Andalo, booked via a gay-friendly tour operator. As the Italian capital of gay skiing, I have to say I felt very at home there; rainbow flags hang from the lampposts on the main street, and everyone was very friendly and accepting of me and my partner. There are also a couple of excellent gay bars in the village, Omosenssualé being our favourite with cheap drinks, an 'anything goes' atmosphere and very friendly bar staff - hi Rocco ;-)
As for the skiing it was acceptable. The mountain is nice & compact, and while there hadn't been snow for a while when we were there, the piste bashers and artificial snow kept it skiable with not too much ice. Overall, I would say the best thing about this resort is its atmosphere for our community, with the skiing coming in a not-too-distant second.
We won a skiing trip to Andalo back in 2004 and we loved it so much we have returned every year since. We have 4 children and it is perfect for us. It caters for every level of skier. The children would be intermediate/advanced skiers at this stage and each year we go, they never complain that they are bored with the runs or that they are not challenging enough for them (age range 9 to 14). The lifts are excellent and each year it is upgraded enormously. I would thoroughly recommend Andalo for families. Am not sure it would be well suited to a group of twenty-somethings as it may not be lively enough at night time. Regardless, there are lots of fabulous restaurants to eat in and all at very reasonable prices. Andalo certainly ticks all the boxes for our needs and we are really looking forward to heading over there on 14th Feb this year.
We visited Andalo in February, not for the quality of the resort but to visit family. We expected the resort to be very small and also not amazingly hard to cover the whole resort. In the 5 days we were there we had covered all of the runs, however, it was still excellent to re-visit them. The snow was fantastic, however, got slightly slushy in the afternoons (as there wasn't too much snow when we were there). The grooming service was excellent and all the runs were efficient with little queuing. The off-piste was also good.
I would recommend this resort to anyone learning to ski, or to people at an intermediate level. I snowboard and consider myself to be reasonably decent, but I would still recommend the resort of Andalo to even the more experienced skiers and boarders.
When we went to Andalo we went along with a school group and another school group from our area. It was brilliant. The kids enjoyed every moment and it provides safety for them to be alone for a while. I recommend it for everyone!
We have only just came back and the first thing I had to do on my arrival home is write a report for this resort. This resort was excellent with a lot to do in the village shops, sports center and lots of entertainment. The pistes were perfect and the snowmaking was amazing as every morning we arrived to perfectly groomed runs restored to their original quality. It boasts a large range of red slopes and most lifts are very modern. For more adventurous people there are off -piste tracks and a black that, when icy, is extremely challenging. I would recommend this to anyone.
Andalo is a good resort situated near Trento. The resort is about 50km in size and is ideal for beginners and intermediates. We took a school party and those pupils who had skied before soon covered the 50km. The runs are well kept and easy to ski. The town is small and friendly. The local sports centre offers swimming, ice skating and arcade machines. Other than the sprts centre, there is little to do. Ideal for first time skiers, however we are returning to Austria!!!!
