Silver Star summarySilver Star is a place where memorable holidays happen all year round. The resort offers stunning skiing, thrilling mountain biking, breathtaking scenery, colourful Victorian architecture, wonderful curiosity shops and restaurants, and fantastic people - people who love to call Silver Star "my mountain". By day, there's heaps of mountain to explore; by night, there's plenty of après-ski entertainment for little kids, teenagers and the young at heart. Blanketed annually by seven metres (23 feet) of dry, feather-light champagne powder, Silver Star is a huge mountain with three distinct faces and 115 runs, bowls and gladed areas. The comfortable average daytime temperatures of ‐5 C (27 F), is cold enough to keep the snow light and fluffy, yet perfect for skiing, riding, cross country skiing and other winter activities. With its long, beautifully manicured runs, quiet, open slopes, and panoramic views, Vance Creek is the most popular area on the mountain. But it's not all laid back, here, you'll find the TELUS Terrain Park, packed with rails, monster jumps, and a half pipe. Accessed via the Powder Gulch Express, Putnam Creek features over forty thigh-burning runs for intermediates and experts. Silver Star's snowcat crew specializes in winch cat grooming, even on some of its steepest runs. Serviced by its very own highspeed quad, Silver Woods features fall line intermediate runs, gladed meadows. The Silver Queen lift services uncrowded beginner/intermediate terrain, while the Attridge Quad provides access to 'local's only' powder stashes. If you're a Nordic skier, make tracks to the Silver Star Nordic Center, where over 100 km (60 miles) of groomed and trackset trails winding throughout the resort and at the neighbouring Sovereign Lake Nordic Centre. Silver Star Mountain Resort is incredibly easy to get to – less than an hour's shuttle from the Kelowna International Airport, which enjoys non‐stop direct service from many Canadian and international cities.
