Visitor Reviews of Powder Mountain

Mike from UNITED KINGDOM writes:

This is a place that lives up to its name, because when you get powder it is magical. There may not be a lot of vertical but you can ski anywhere. One of the reasons the runs are nearly empty on the busiet of days; people just disperse across the mountain. It is mainly an intermediate hill with old lift chairs and a very relaxed atmosphere. It is definitely a rustic and quiet(even the local sheriff skis in his uniform)area but a lot of people might say all the better for it. Night owls can forget it as there is nothing here for you, apart from night skiing either here or down the valley at Wolf Creek. The nearest large town is Ogden about 20-25 mins away, but there are plenty of Condos down in Eden about 5 miles away, lift tickets are cheap compared to the big boys of Utah and Colorado, but if you split your time between here and Snowbasin (35-40 mins away) you will get some great skiing. Locals who ski here say it is becoming more well known and property prices are shooting up. There are rumours that it is about to be sold as it is in private ownership at this moment in time, so if you want unspoilt non-comercialised skiing get here soon as it may be on the way to joining the big boys.
