Visitor Reviews of Mt Voras Kaimaktsalan

Herbert from AUSTRIA writes:

I was there on the 30th of December 2007 and I must say I was very lucky. Coming from Saloniki with a daily bus service, it didn't look very promising as it was very foggy. But climbing up the mountain the bus went through the fog and a deep blue sky without any clouds appearing.
As it was a Sunday it was quite crowded and there is, for sure, some space for improvements for renting some stuff and to get the lift pass (waiting time; 30min each). The lifts are good and old fashioned but good enough for this area. Just I couldn't understand that at T-Bar lifting only one person per T-Bar was going. However, most likely Kaimaktsalan is the place to find the powder in Greece due to location and altitude. They say it can be very windy and foggy. Right, it is a real mountain and if the weather is good it has an excellent view. You find also some slopes with deep powder, not too steep but good enough. I think it is also a very good place for beginners as there are nice wide, long blue and red slopes.
