Marmot Basin summary

Marmot Basin is a winter playground just 20 minutes from the town of Jasper, Marmot Basin offers 84 trails, 1,675 acres of skiable Rocky Mountain terrain and some runs stretching up to 3.5 miles. The recently added terrain of the upper bowls improved the skiing experience immensely. Marmot Basin has all the services skiers need: rental equipment, ski lessons, restaurant facilities, town site bus service and a unique parking lot that allows you to ski to and from your vehicle. Bus transportation to town with 1,823 beds in 15 lodges, 19 kilometers from the area. Winter camping is available. Jasper is good fun but cold, so take lots of warm clothing!

Marmot basin is the resort that you wish you had. It is the way you would want a resort to be. Short, if any, lift lines. Always a seat avaliable in the restaurants. Ego snow that you can always look good on. Staff that are friendly. The runs range from the easiest for the beginners on a magic carpet to advanced double diamond powder chutes and bowls. From a family resort to the challenging stuff! Nice modern lifts too!
And a highly professional Snow School! Jasper, the town where the accomodation is located, is just how you would imagine a town in the Canadian Rockies should be. No lies, no pretense, just natural and friendly.
The locals surprise you with their genuine friendliness and kindness. Even to the point when you even think about crossing the road all cars stop for you to cross... even if ther is no pedestrian crossing.
Fully reccomended. We are going to return!
