One of the best ski bases of Kyrgyzstan can be found while driving around Issyk-Kul lake. The most famous among them is “Karakol” ski resort (Karakol Mountain Ski Base). It's altitude is 2300m and it is 7 km from Karakol city. The ski resort has rope ways and ski runs of different levels of complexity what is good as for the professionals as for the beginners. The sky season starts in November and lasts until April. During this period it is not necessary to worry about the snow as it covers the ground by about 1.5-2.5 meters. The Ski Resort Karakol works during the whole year. Those who prefer “freeride” or cross country rather than well groomed and predictable trials can range across the vast expanses of snowy slopes.
