Crested Butte Mountain Resort receives more than 25 feet of snowfall a year, spread out over 1,160 acres. There's a go-for-it attitude that prevails among friendly, loose skiers and management. There's plenty of terrain for all abilities, but hot skiers and riders will want to know there are more double-black diamond ski trails than any other resort in Colorado. The Gunnison/Crested Butte Airport now has more flights making this destination more convenient to get to. Crested Butte is preparing to install a new fixed grip quad lift this season to access its premier ski-in/ski-out Prospect real estate development. This will add four new trails and 15 intermediate acres to the mountain's terrain. New for this season is the addition of Bombadier Snow cat to the grooming fleet to ensure that even more terrain is groomed every night. Also, two new hotels will add to about 50 hotels, inns, bed and breakfasts, up to four bedroom homes, and condominiums, offering approximately 6,000 rooms within a 3-mile radius of the slopes.
