Highly recommended, I went skiing for the first time in Alpendorf last season. The Village itself is very picturesque. The ski lifts were only 5 mins from our Apartment, so could get lots of skiing in. The blue runs were great, but there seems to be plenty of more tricky stuff for the experts. Definately going again soon.

A smashing place for a school trip or adult ski group. Great lifts, uncrowded pistes when away from the instruction runs & British school holidays. We have had great snow conditions for a decade. The top hotels offer super food. Alpendorf is a great value resort with an amazing lift system & Snowpark.
They invest well & this resort improves every year. Hotels are available for all budgets & cater for the student skier or the all expenses paid business group.
Nightlife is what your party makes of it. Of course, the Austrians are friendly & great fun. Enjoy!

Very nice place. I was here for 10 days; great off-piste and tree riding! However, very, very crowded! A lot of beginners and incredible waiting lines. In some areas practically impossible to ride. If you are an advanced skier or boarder, maybe you should think about somewhere else. Great for kids, grandpa and grandma.

Been coming here for 10 years. Wonderful ski area. Very friendly staff and a good variety of terrain. We enjoy the on-mountain restaurants and find the prices very reasonable. The snow making and the slope preparation are excellent. The new lifts in Alpendorf are great with heated seats and covers for snowy weather. The G-link in Wagrain provides a great connection to Wagrain and Flacau.

Here now at the peak week of the season. According to #WePowder, 5 million people headed to the Alps this week as the UK/Dutch and German half-term weeks created a perfect storm. Yes, it is crowded; avoid the bottom lifts between 08.45 and 09.45 and take a picnic as the restaurants are chaos, But the snow is the best in years; we've had two full on powder days and may even squeeze another in before the week is over. It is true that 80% of people go to 20% of the resorts, so we had a day in Grossarl (uncrowded) a day in Schladming (big enough to take the numbers) and will ski Hochkonig on "changeover" day, so it is possible to get some great runs in despite the crowds.
I can't comment on hotels but our 8 bed apartment in the Steakhouse Rauchkuchen at €750 per week is a bloody good deal. We're only 4 so plenty of room and usable kitchen.
Love Ski Amade and the Austrian Apres so much that we're buying in Flachau.
Off ski touring next week so may post an update.
