What a brilliant place. If you want a small family friendly village with ski-in ski-out, several nice bars and restaurants, 650km of slopes, great ski schools and kit hire, not too expensive, loads of nice chalets to rent and just 90 mins from Geneva airport this place is for you! If you want loud brash stag and hen party central then i’d go elsewhere.

If you do not live locally, why bother as there are such better places to go to than this super expensive, mediocre town with only slow lifts chairs and drag lifts. It's the kind of place where the local bus driver hears your foreign pathetic attempt at French and closes the door in front of you.

We have been visiting for 15 years and the skiing is some of the best in the world. Many lifts have been replaced with chairlifts and you can access the massive Portes du Soleil circuit from the Folleuise or Corbeau lifts in the village or the new lifts 5 mins away in Chatel. Gabelou & Portes du Soleil. Stunning runs and safe off-piste powder through trees, especially the new Didier Defago run back to the village. Village is 1350 to 1400 meters and the first lift takes you to 1800metres.

At present the snow in Morgins is fantastic, with very good off piste and powder. Morgins is a family resort, but enough bars and restaurants for a weeks ski holiday, will be coming back here

I have been visiting Morgins for years, fantastic skiing in the winter and great mountain biking in the summer. Personal tip, for skiing its worth it to take a guide to discover the Portes du Soleil, the guys from the new ski school know the area like the back of their hands!(showed me some great off piste!)Great family resort.

If you want crowded bars, long ski-lift queues, and adequate/average mountain top food, then you should try somewhere else. For a family with younger kids, Morgins offers space, great varied skiing, good grub, excellent views, a relaxed atmosphere and the options of getting out a bit further away if desired. The village is very sweet, everyone is friendly, and appear to appreciate your custom, which is more than can be said for some FR resorts I've been to.

It is difficult to imagine a better positioned ski resort with access to 650 km of ski slopes, a variety of terrain and landscape that does not need to be repeated throughtout a week's holiday. Morgins has fantastic potential to grow into a preferred ski destination for people who mix skiing with mountain/snow worship. The small restaurants on the French site offer superb food in generous portions. The village of Morgins is quiet but who needs loud barbarians?! It is advisable to ski with an instructor and use the local knowledge of slopes and lifts. Otherwise, one might easily miss the last Pointe de Mossette lift at 4.15-4.30 pm and get stranded in France. Can't wait to come back.

Small, limited resort. If the connection to Avoriaz is closed then there is only limited skiing and then you cannot connect with the rest of the Portes du soleil. The very long T bars are a pain for snow boarders and skiers alike. All the lifts appear old. The facilities in the village are very limited with only a couple of decent restaurants and bars. The snow record is not brilliant. The red run back to the village is great at first but soon becomes just a track which is not brilliant. Plus point; it is very easy to get to from Geneva (one and half hours). On a good day with all lifts open there is great access to a fantastic ski area. Parking near the ski lift is very difficult when busy.

Morgins - a beautiful picture book village in the heart of the Portes Du Soleil. Fantastic links with quick and easy access to a the huge variety of skiing that this area has to offer. More than enough restaurants, bars and nightlife to keep you entertained for a week. The best place to stay is White Pines Lodge a beautiful catered chalet in the centre of the village; a mere stones throw from the lifts. The hosts make you extremely welcome and will even show you around the slopes. An easy 1.1/2 hour drive from Geneva Airport.
