Hi Keith, flying from Leeds/Brad on the 23 Dec, yes like you I've been praying for snow, pleased to see it looking a lot whiter. Staying at the Casa Letizia Apts, next to Cassana drag lift no 30. Hope we do meet up, 8 of us going 4 boyz 16,15,10 and 9. Watch out for the Leeds Utd hats, sad but we've got to keep the faith.

Will see you out there Debbie, next weeks forcast states snow 18th,19th Dec. We have stayed at Letizia before and agree they are nice and well placed, our kids enjoy sledging just behind Letizia after skiing. What with Keith from Rotherhams boyz yours and mine the lads could have a great time should we all meet up.

Been to Livigno five times so far & have enjoyed it every time! Never been let down by the snow! I have stayed at the Zodiac a couple of times & all in all it is a good option, right in the centre of the village so everything is on your doorstep!
Wasn't able to go this year (2007) but my friends still went & stayed in the Letizia apartments & said they where perfect so we are booking them for 2008!
Skiing wise Livigno is excellent for beginners but may not test some advanced skiers! The snow park is really good & is well worth a go!
Nightlife is also pretty good with cheap booze a plenty & excellent food also!

Visited Livigno during mid January 2007, we were greeted by Big Blue skies, splendid scenery, good skiing and friendly locals. Runs to suit most levels especially beginners and intermediates, the more advanced may grumble a little - but - HEY, can't always please everyone. Beginners will enjoy the many blue runs at village level - but a quick word of warning some of these taper off sharply at the ends or alternate to Reds without warning. Just take the time to study the piste maps beforehand. Temperatures were minus 10 at night with the pavements becoming sheet ice (great fun though ).
At this time we must mention Steve from Leeds, you are both a source of inspiration and entertainment, we have nicknamed you STEVE from LEEDSVINGO - keep the good work up my friend may see you and your family there one year !
It snowed 2 weeks before we arrived there with conditions just starting to turn icy - but still fun, enjoyed the laid back and relaxed approach and certainly not over-skied pistes as per many French resorts.
Yes - those Livigno prices are correct, a litre bottle of Jack Daniels for 7 pounds and a respectable restaurant meal for around the same. Try an Italian authentic pizza, you will feel like suing Tescos. Fantastic and for less than 5 pounds. It may pay to brush up on your Italian a little, I'm sure the locals tire of the many gesticulating Brits inquiring where the tobacconists are located.
We have previously skied at Austria, Germany and France ( 3 valleys ) and would rate Livigno as a package up there with the very best, the effortless long blue cruise run from the top of Costaccia is worth the price of the Plane Fare alone.
Those buses, they are a source of both irritation and humour. They are frequent and reliable during the day, however, after 6 p.m. they partly disappear or worse they self terminate their service leaving you with frozen brass monkeys to thaw out at leisure afterwards. If you get the chance catch the blue bus to the eastern lakeside of the village, we chuckled at the many buildings and houses with their same style detached dog kennels built to the same architecture ( very funny).
On the bus subject, simply go into any pub or restaurant and they will willingly call a taxi for free - taking you anywhere in the village for less than 4 pounds.
So, if you are thinking of a Ski Holiday or fancy an alternative resort try Livigno - you won't be disappointed - book it now and be greeted by those big blue Livigno skies. And Steve from LEEDSVINGO - keep the writeups coming my friend.
Skiing is our religion and the mountain is my church.

One week back and still missing the snow, sunshine, Prosecco (at 3.40 Euro a bottle) and the groovy music in Daphne’s! Definitely now part of the Livigno fan club – it’s a cosy, down-to-earth resort with a very upbeat friendly atmosphere. No ski snobs in sight. The classes for beginners were great and the intermediate skiers I was with had no complaints. Roll on next year!

Hello to the Redditch Mob, pleased to hear you are Livigo fans like me, just to clear a few things up; I'm employed by the Livigno tourist office (well I should be) but we only managed one trip there this year. Will be back there for Xmas 2007. This might shock you but my eldest son is getting a bit fed up of Livigno. He's been there about 8 times. I'm just about to put him up for adoption, though he took a friend with him this year and loved all the jumps down the long blue on the Mottolino side. But never fear I'm still plugging the independent holiday. More cheap flights to Bergamo please. 39p is the cheapest we've had.

All returned, again, from Livigno, 2nd week March, enjoyed the views of lake Como on route. The 4 hour journey flew by. Conditions this time were superb, the best we have encountered anywhere ever!!!
Snowed during the nights, followed by blue skies during the day. We all skied / boarded all day long with rubber legs to prove it afterwards ( brilliant ).
Spent more time on the Mottolini side this time. Some of the runs, due to the conditions, exceeded anything we had expected. Our son and his friend, between them, had a couple of nasty falls but we all got back home alive and well to tell the tale.
Sadly and certainly more expensively we are all committed to La Plagne for next March 2008. However, as a true Livigno fan will continue to look out for any Livigno bargains - STEVE from LEEDSVIGNO tell me more about those 39p flights and commendations to you on your loyalty to this superb place - tell your son from me there is no need to visit anywhere else ,Livigno has it all.
Roll on 2009 or even Christmas 2007 if STEVE from LEEDSVIGNO wishes to pass on a few price tips to us.
Thankyou

Going back to Livigno for the New Year. This time, still staying at Casa letitzia. Got flights from Gatwick, £9.99 each way. Couldn't get anything cheaper so will make up the difference by knocking a present off the kids Xmas list (true Yorkshire man.) Bit of a trek down to Gatwick thanks to Jet2 not flying to Bergamo on a Sat. Cheers, thanks for that.
