Typically Swiss, Interlaken has an incredible location: on the Aar River linking nearby Lake Thun and Lake Brienz, and in the shade of magnificent Alpine mountains including famous Jungfrau. The wonderful views are seen flying into Interlaken Airport.
The lakes are great spots for sailing, swimming or simply having a picnic along the peaceful shores. The area also has its fair share of high-adrenaline pursuits including bungee jumping, paragliding and river rafting.
In winter it’s all about the Interlaken skiing and snowboarding, with options including the fabulous Jungfrau Winter Sport Region and family-friendly areas with easy slopes. The Jungfrau-Aletsch-Bietschhorn glacier is UNESCO World Heritage-listed, and the Jungfraujoch mountain railway takes you to the Top of Europe, the highest railway station in Europe. For a break from skiing, Europe’s longest toboggan run is a thrill a minute. Après-ski ranges from bars and discos to cosy restaurants serving specialities like fondue and raclette.
The town offers great views of the snowy peak of Jungfrau, best seen from Höheweg which also has a Japanese garden and lots of shops selling all things Swiss. Also here is the Hotel Victoria Jungfrau and the Hotel Royal St Georges, 2 Swiss Heritage Sites that are just some of the Interlaken accommodation options on Booking.com.

Interlaken is small enough to walk and large enough to have many options for dining and shopping. Best part is having access to the mountains and transportation to smaller villages in the heart of the Alps.

Interlaken doesn't seem like a prime destination but more of a home base for other excursions or a stop between two destinations. It was easy to get around and there were plenty of shops and restaurants closely located to the hotels.

Beautiful town.
Beautiful town. A must visit place with amazing train connectivity to Grindelwald. Lovely streets to walk around and enjoy. Take boat trips. Explore the lakes. Interlaken OST station and Interlaken West station are 15 mins apart but the walk is pretty straight and very pleasing.

It’s near to interlaken train station, only 5 minutes walk and convenient spot with a supermarket and restaurants nearby. Cozy place except room is a bit small for a family of 5 though. Place is simple with cooking facilities. An adventurous place with paragliding, walking trails, boating and trains to nearby places like Bern, Grandawald, Montreux.

Fantastic and interesting place to explore! There are many activities to get involved with like paragliding, shopping (so many Swatches to choose from) plus it’s surrounded with gorgeous and nearby places like Lauterbrunnen, Jongfraujoch(Europe’s highest point)Grindelwald-a pretty village, and Iseltwald-famous for the Crash Landing on You spot. Food can be expensive but affordable.

Interlaken itself is a great base, and is set up for tourists (including tourist prices!) Interlaken is easy to get around on foot and there are regular bus and train services.
Lots of companies with day tours, activities etc If you have time, get to some of the other areas around the lakes - eg. Spiez, Iseltwald or Brienz (by train!)
We love how detailed the instruction was given traveling to our accommodation. And the host, Marco - he is so helpful and full of details in terms of cleanliness, travel information, weather & what to do around Interlaken.
Marco even gave a free pair of new gloves as the weather is freezing cold while we were cycling. While doing laundry, we even noticed how the host was preparing for next guest stay by full cleaning and ironing.
Overall, it feels like we are staying home in Switzerland.
THANK YOU :)
The best thing we love about this hotel is how the father of the owner, Mr. J Louis served breakfast every morning with energy and a happy face. On my birthday, he even gave us a cupcake and local breads to try and bring for our day tour.
It is also very accessible as it is near to Interlaken West train station.
The room and restrooms are always clean.
Breakfast is great, and we love their bacon 🥓.
Superb customer service and on our next visit to Switzerland we want to stay again in this hotel.
worth for the price which i paid for this hotel as the process are generally quite high within the Interlaken central area. This is an 3 to 4 star hotel however the rooms available in the 5th floor are cheaper due to the shared bathroom and no access to to the lift (lift only operates till the 4th floor). The location is just great - 600 to 800 meters from the train station and breakfast was amazing lots of choices. I would highly recommend if you are looking for budget price with luxury hotel.
Interlaken is a beautiful place in Switzerland and after walking all day and exploring you really need that place to come back to and relax. This place was nice and cozy and I loved looking out the window and seeing the Swiss alps! When we first arrived we were lost, Super Mario came to our rescue and found us and brought us back to the apartment! He was very welcoming and made sure to answer any questions we had.
Excellent location and very nice building - Literally can see the hotel ("Hotel Central") from the train station. Nice room and superb view from the balcony! Hotel is right next to a river so very scenic. Very convenient - 3 mins walk to old town, 8 mins walk to the main Interlaken belt (casino and open area with view of Jungfraujoch). Convenient to go up Jungfrau too. Front-desk staff are nice and friendly.
The room size was the biggest we had in Switzerland. It had a desk, a table and chairs, ample closet space, a good sized bathroom and a very comfortable bed. The location was a short walk from the train station but not too far, even with our backpacks. It was on a quiet street. Our room overlooked the bar area in the adjacent building. We could hear people talking but it was never loud or rowdy.
Being in Switzerland, of course! The views were phenomenal, the accommodations were exceptional! Bettina and all at the hotel were wonderful hosts and my daughters and I simply loved everything. The breakfast was a thing of beauty and so delicious. Thank you so much, Bettina. You made our time with you comfortable and you went above and beyond to make sure we had everything we needed.
Location was great - close to Interlaken OST station, and near the main road/park. This was the only hotel during our one week stay across Switzerland where the bed was actually a queen/king mattress (without two split beds joined)! The room & bathroom was spacious. The soft drinks & beer in the bar were on the house! Great ventilation. Early check-in on higher floor (thanks Tania!)
The staff were very friendly and warm. Shared with us very useful info the moment we checked in. The location is amazing, 1 min walk from interlaken west station and bus stops. Beautiful views from rooms and rooftop where breakfasts were served. Really basked switzerland's beauty.
.very thoughtful to have a microwave oven at the lobby so that we can heat up food bought from Coop.
Great room with a fridge and a bathtub! Upper floors have nice views and the bed is comfortable and huge for one person! I liked the the colorful Swiss-style bedsheets. They were so cute! Heater works great! Wifi is good as well. Thank you for having me stay here and welcoming me into Switzerland. Staff is very helpful and friendly!
Switzerland was hot in May. I prefer a quieter location here especially where my balcony faced church towers and snowy mountain making my stay here especially pleasant. Not to mention the location to train, grocery stores, boat stops, etc.
I like everything here, breakfast, decor.. a wonderful place to recommend to others.
The location was amazing. The hosts were very friendly. Better than some 5 star hotels. Very clean. And most importantly the hand held bidet in toilet and the amenities in the apartment.; fully equipped kitchen. They provided us a portable AC unite as well. Would love to re-visit again. Apartment 3 has the best view.
I fell in love with the little, cozy and clean room. It was my 10th day in Europe, and I slept very well compared to the other hotels i've stayed. Very, very friendly host, and just because of her (along with cozy and comfy room) i would like to come back to this place again when I get a chance to visit Switzerland.
The breakfast options were pretty good, standard for Switzerland but the quality was good.
Staff was friendly and willing to help, even though they are seen to be overworked.
The location was great, just next to the train station and a supermarket! No sound at night unlike what other reviewers mentioned.
It’s a beautiful apartment very close to train station with all the facilities.
The owner is a wonderful lady. Went out of the way to help us with our luggage as we had a train back home for late evening.
Will surely stay here whenever in Interlaken. Would give 5 stars to this property .
Right in the center of Interlaken. closeby to the train station. very convenient location. Staff was incredibly friendly. Breakfast was average but was still good enough to fill us up for all-day hiking away from the expensive food in Switzerland. :) The break room/coffee room
Very convenient location! Comfy bed and pillows, better than other hotels/airbnbs we've been which I wasn't expecting. Would definitely stay again if back in Switzerland. Good size balcony too with a view!
