Small village with a supermarket and 2 or 3 places to eat.
Small village with a supermarket and 2 or 3 places to eat. Typical Ski resort but we went in summer to cycle and watched a stage of the TDF at the top of Col De L'Iseran that is about 6 km from Bessans. There are quite a few equally nice villages around the area and the scenery is stunning. We only happened on this area of the Alps as we were following the TDF but after our visit we'll definitely be back, it's fantastic. We usually do the typical Alps cycling area around Bourg D'Oisans for the famous Cols Alp D'Huez/Les Alpes Deux/Croix Du Fer etc but this area around Bessans is well worth the trip for the Cols around the area that are beautiful. The owners are friendly and personal with great recommendations of where to eat in the village, and local sightseeing and driving/cycling routes. Lovely rooms with views and so nice having breakfast outside. They even had a sauna but we didn’t have enough time as we were driving the Route des Grandes Alps. I recommend this chalet as a great base whilst exploring the area and driving the alps and it would probably be a great cosy ski base in winter.

Spacious and impeccably clean.The kitchen is well-equiped (even a raclette set is available) and we could make use of a part of the garden where the owners had set a table with chairs for us with views on the mountains. Friendly welcome.
