Our visit to Brecon was to meet friends and celebrate a milestone birthday. We had a fantastic bit short trip and regretted not having more time to explore the town more as well as the local countryside.

Spent two whole days sightseeing in brecon itself.
Spent two whole days sightseeing in brecon itself. Other days went out to visit, wales ape and monkey sanctuary, Henrhyd waterfalls were well worth the walk down the shale track, visited Blaenavon mining museum and visited Aberfan. Each route had ideal motorcycling road and spectacular countryside views. There are also other places to visit but did not have time to visit them all. Would recommend the area for views and for walkers, lovely spots for picnics. Absulutely fantastic

The hotel was clean neat and tidy. The people on reception were polite & courteous. The restaurant food was good.
There is no service between lunch and dinner - so it means a trip out if you need a snack.
I was using the hotel as a half way stop so didn’t explore the area.. sorry.

The cathedral was well worth a visit- and the cafe/lunch place was lovely with good quality food.
It’s a lovely town with a lot of character and good places to eat and drink.
The surrounding area is stunning. For those wanting to go up Pen y Fan and other peaks, Brecon is a perfect base.
I will be going back for sure!

I Loved the Place, the area is a National Treasure.
I Loved the Place, the area is a National Treasure.
I had some great shopping experiences
Sorry, but I do not do churches / cathedrals or cemeteries, those days have long past, I much prefer to shop along the high street and visit a Tea Room or Charity Shop, or best of all a Market / Fete.
Top tip for those eating at a Pub or two, expect mediocre Food and London Prices here, I believe it is that they feel with such a massive audience they can get away with it. Of all the places we ate, The Tea Rooms at Wye-Not-Stop Llyswen, Brecon, LD3 0UR Has to be our Favourite place to eat, and what a cracking name.

Brecon is like many rural towns - recovering from a hard time during the pandemic. Sad to see so many local hostelries that I once knew closed down and too many cheaper shops on the high street where originality and quality was once the benchmark. Parking is too difficult and certainly too expensive. The promenade has a potential as a beauty spot but was a waterlogged untidy mess during my visit. A few more quality restaurants would also help.
The hotel room was very quiet and the thought put into dog owners was significant placing them in the annex away from other people to avoid disturbing other guests to having bowls of water around the premises. The food was very good and very reasonably priced considering the quality. It always came out very hot and quickly. The bar and seating area was nicely decorated and the room was well thought out with nice decor.
Excellent communications before we even arrived. We were greeted by the owner Tony who looked after us really well. The room (in fact the whole place) was beautiful, clean and well equipped. The bed was very comfortable - we slept very well. Breakfasts were just superb with an extensive choice, all cooked to perfection. Great location as well close to the town centre. We really had nothing to complain about at all!
An amazing place to stay! Great location for Pen Y Fan and for other fab walks in the Brecon Beacons. The town of Brecon is lovely, some great restaurants and cafes and the cathedral is a must see.
Mount Street house is a beautiful guest house, super comfy beds and lovely facilities. The breakfast was amazing, local produce and freshly cooked to order. We will definitely be back! Thank you :)
Mount Street House was located in an ideal spot close to the Brecon town centre and our room was very clean and comfortable. While there is no free parking most nights, we didn't have any issues finding a parking bay close by (less than 2 minute walk). Breakfast was great and was safely delivered to our doors every morning - thanks Nigel and Myfanwy for the comfortable stay!
The location was great, in Brecon town centre and close to Pen Y Fan which was the reason for our trip. There’s no parking which is a pain as you can only park outside the hotel for 1 hour and then you have to move your car. There is a paying car park about a 10 minute walk away. The bed was comfy and the shower had a good pressure.
The location of the lodge is fantastic - super short, 10 minute walk into the Main Street of Brecon. Also it is very close to the T4 bus stop which takes you to the trail head of Pen-y-fan (at storey arms). Pete is very helpful and tries to make the stay enjoyable - he also recommended a great restaurant!!
The B&B is set in a beautiful location with scenic views. It is also only a short walk in to the town centre.
The hosts were extremely friendly and couldn't do enough for us.
The room was absolutely spotless, very comfy and spacious too.
Breakfast was absolutely delicious.
10/10 for Beaconsview B&B.
it was spacious, welcoming, and conveniently located. the kitchen was well equipped and the owner left breakfast on the counter and milk in the fridge. Great communication before, during and after our stay. We loved being right next to the river. wished we could have stayed longer.
Fantastic boutique hotel with rooms decorated to an exquisite standard. Fantastic breakfasts and a great location for exploring the town. Hosts were so obliging with nothing too much trouble for them. This is a real gem of a hotel. We will be booking again!
Great location for a two day stay in Brecon. Friendly hosts who left tea, coffee, milk, orange juice, bread, milk and cereal for breakfast. cottage was v clean. Beds v comfy - needed for a good night's sleep after climbing up Pen-y-Fan!
Brecon isn’t a big place so everywhere in the village is within walking distance. Christine is fantastic. She’ll help you with anything you need.
The room was comfortable, clean and had everything we needed.
Breakfasts were fantastic.
Stayed here with a friend when touring around Brecon Beacons. Very impressed by cleanliness and how Ed gave us a lift to and from Brecon town centre. Room was cosy. Would definitely recommend if you're staying in this area.
The location is great, very close to Brecon Beacons National Park. The indoor pool was perfect for the kids to have fun during Eunice storm day. Hot tub after a trekking day was also brilliant.
Perfect location in town, yet a short drive to the hiking trails to Pen-y-Fen and other gorgeous locations! Love the set up of rooms and cottages- what a beautiful get a way!
