Its very expensive compared to other areas I have stayed, I wouldn't have stayed here if it wasn't for the cycling. You can get way better value else where. Its got everything you need, although was disappointed the gondola from the valley up, was running in the summer. would have expected this being a MTB resort in the summer.

Meribel - Mottaret is a great resort a little higher and smaller than Meribel. It’s ideal for families as has many ski-in out options. At Easter it was fairly quiet, no queues and plenty of Space. Weather was changeable but we had very good snow 3 /5 days. The restaurants are decent and there is a good supermarket. All very easy to navigate. ESF ski school recommended.

We went to meribel for downhill mountain biking.
We went to meribel for downhill mountain biking. While there are a few red and black trails, which favour a downhill bike, most trails and tracks are better suited with an enduro bike. If you don't mind a little bit of pushing uphill, it's fine either way.
Most "Bikepark" tracks are on the easier side suited well for beginners. Elite/pro tracks are harder to find, but those that exist are fun to ride with well built jumps and drops / obstacles. I wouldn't mind to have more of those though.
The enduro trails are panoramic and absolutely superb. The view from the mountains is just stunning. Descent is sometimes over 1000hm which is really amazing.
All three valleys can be accessed with chair lifts by a single ticket. The price is totally fair.
Summed up, for hardcore Bikepark riding an area like Chatel/Avoriaz/Morzine is probably a bit better, but for a good mixture of DH/Enduro Meribel and surrounding area is just perfect. Would bring both bikes next time though ;)

I have been to Meribel for a week's skiing before and had a great time. Now I visit often for just the day as we stay in Chamagny en vanoise which is just across the valley from Courcheval and has access to la Plagne, Champagny is a cute tradition French village and just feels like you're in France unlike some other ski resorts. From here we can ski La Plagne and Les Arcs or drive 20 mins to Courcheval to mix up the week a little.
Great ski-in ski-out location. Heated ski boot rails were much appreciated.
Staff were very friendly. L’Hermine restaurant within the hotel is lovely for both lunch and dinner, but can lack atmosphere. Rooms were very clean, and bed was comfortable. Shampoos etc great quality and replenished daily.
It is a 15 min walk down stairs to Mottaret centre, however, the Chalet gondola is a 3 min walk and takes you straight down into the centre within minutes. If we hadn’t discovered this, our stay would have been far less enjoyable.
The flat was well designed. The location was good, about a 5 minute walk over a bridge up a short hill just past the tourist office to access ski slopes (Doron, a blue trail down to the Meribel Center lifts). There was both a hotel and public parking lot directly under the building that could be accessed directly from the hotel by a lift. The flat was small but comfortable, perfect for 3 or 4 people or a family with kids. Kitchen had all the basic appliances, including a Nespresso.
The staff were exceptional; always friendly, polite and helpful. The location of the hotel is perfect; close to a Ski set hire shop which was excellent and right on the piste so you can look out from the bar and catch any of the lifts in Mottaret. All ski lockers are individual for the room so your equipment is secure. The breakfasts are varied and plentiful and the staff even opened breakfast early on our last day. Thank you Mont Vallon - we loved our stay
Excellent location, a minute to the ski room from the accommodation and a further minute to the slopes, a brief ski down and you're in the centre of Meribel Mottaret and the lifts which are much quieter in the morning than those in Meribel-Mottaret centre. Bus stop is nearby if you do want to go into Meribel. Using the door code on arrival was easy. The bathroom was lovely, nice hot water. A minute walk to the grocery store and ski hire shops.
- Location is amazing, truly ski in ski out! Good value too!
- Very close to the large car parks (this does not mean parking was easy to find though)!
- Ground floor room we had provided a great view which was a surprise
- Good amount of kitchen equipment to cook fairly complex meals
- Much more modern and clean bathrooms than we were expecting!!
This is ski in - ski out property which is located in Meribel Mottaret. There is a free lift that takes you to the property from the base of the village. You can put your skis on and hit the slopes straight away (Slope Aguile goes next tot he property). There is also a covered car park available for additional fee. Great staying overall.
We liked our stay. Perfect location Ski in and out. Very cozy and rustic French style. The lounge area is wonderful. Amazing breakfast buffet. They had the best towels we had in a while. In general very kind and attentive staff. And we loved the ski rental store’s convenience and service level that’s connected with it.
I chose the place because of the location, next to the hotel. This was very good. The place was good for me as I am OK with a camping type of living. But for most, it would be too small. The maintenance of the snow and ice on the walkways was good. The building was quiet.
Loved our stay at this property! Exceed expectations based upon the reviews/rating.
Great location in town, small walk to the ski lifts. Clean and cosy. Great breakfast (above expectations). Small, but to be expected for a European hotel room. Would return again.
Staff were ultra friendly and helpful. Spa facilities were great, normally would pay more to have these in a hotel. Location excellent - less than 5 mins walk to resort centre, and only had to cross road from boot/ski room to start skiing.
Before we arrived the staff were in touch helping to make our trip as smooth as possible. The location was fantastic, having the ski shop on location was perfect, and staff throughout were some of the best we have experienced!
The whole package was brilliant. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was great and the facilities were brilliant. Not to mention the location was brilliant. Couldn't find a single fault with the Hotel.
Great location, right in town centre, close to slopes. Good space flat, clean, modern and tidy. Swimming pool great size for kids. Will definitely come back and stay again if returning to Méribel
