Arrowtown is an amazing historic town. The trees were turning gold autumn colours & looking fantastic! The museum right in town is a must see - so much history & exhibits extremely well put together. A walk along the river & also a visit to the old Chinese village nearby is very interesting.
The new Ayrburn area of restaurants & bars only 5 mins out of town is so beautifully landscaped & the buildings have great character. We only had coffee there but I highly recommend having lunch or dinner there. It is an outstanding development & will only get better as they add more.
You cannot miss visiting Arrowtown!

Arrowtown is so much quieter than Queenstown and has a charm of its own. You can however catch a bus over to Queenstown for the day for a small fare. Great central place to stay if you wish to explore the region i.e. vineyards, golf courses, walks along the river and historical sites to explore.

The house was spacious., very comfortable, and well appointed. It had a washer and dryer. There's also a garage and a nice driveway to park in. It was located in a quiet area.
The house was just a few minutes drive to Arrowtown where there were plenty of restaurants, shopping, and historical sites.
We have no complaints. Everything was good! It was a nice place to stay!

An interesting town with a great museum and lots of information about the goldrush. We only stayed for one night. Good selection of pubs and restaurants in the town. A big public car park with free parking for 24 hours. Nice river walk.

Arrowtown is a historic gold mining town, on the banks of the beautiful Arrow River. A lovely haven, close enough to Queenstown but away from the hustle and bustle. Beautiful old-world charm and shops, great dining. Has its own wee boutique movie theatre Dorothy Browns (very busy so be sure to book in advance). Very close to Coronet Peak skifield (approx 20 min drive), Lake Hayes walkway, Queenstown Bike Trail. Highly recommend the Arrow River walk (especially in autumn with the fall foliage), visit to the Chinese Settlement for gold mining history, watch a movie at Dorothy Browns boutique cinema, and sampling the local cuisine, beer and wine at the local dining places.

Loved staying in Arrowtown, location perfect, so close to ski fields, wineries, Golf Courses, Balloon Flight, Frankton and Queenstown but not as busy.
A Must Do if weather permits (we waited 6 days but so worth the wait to do Sunrise Ballons flight which was the highlight of our trip.)
For a hotel in the cheaper price bracket we loved staying here. Perfect location on the main Street so we could park the car and wander around. There was a little supermarket a few shops down so we could buy milk. We had a lovely meal for dinner. The young guy who checked us in was super friendly and helpful, we noticed he made a point of chatting to all the customers. Love that we could also easily walk to the Chinese settlement and the river as well. TV/bed/shower all fine too.
It is a lovely cottage and had everything I needed for a relaxing stay. I enjoyed proximity to the village but also that it was far enough away to feel 'in the country'. The extras provided - coffee, tea, biscuits, some food etc - were welcoming. The place was warm and cosy, and Arrowtown is such a lovely spot as a base to enjoy the region. The mountains, the fresh air and the peacefulness of the area was just what I needed.
We found the hotel very conveniently located close to the centre of Arrowtown. Our room was spacious and well equipped with thoughtful extras like the welcome cheese platter and wine. Breakfast was excellent and our hostess very friendly. A good choice for a visit to a charming village. Bonus extra - a washing machine and dryer in a cupboard in our room! Washing powder also provided… great for refreshing some stuff!
The owner of the cottage thought of everything! Lots of space heaters, the toys for our 2 year old were a hit, the book she created that gives recommendations on what to do and where to eat (and permission to pick fruit from their trees!) - there were even little chocolate bars left out for us. Really wonderful place. The cottage is on a nice property very close to the heart of town as well.
Amazing location, beautiful cottage and surrounding garden and room was clean and spacious, breakfast was one of the best we have during our holiday and Paul was a great host, happy to suggest options for dinners and really lovely to talk to. An awesome bonus was the smart tv so we could watch Netflix or YouTube while it was rainy. Will definitely be back if we are ever back in Arrowtown
Everything was ideal, easy late check in, nothing to complain about at all, ideal base for Queenstown, Cromwell and Wanaka. Nice quiet area, $ square 1 min down the road was a bonus. The motel is tidy inside and out, modern, clean, had everything you need really for a family trip. Cant think of much to improve. Highly recomended.
Honestly could not fault this place - the absolute best views and only a very short drive to stunning Arrowtown. The cottage was very warm with the fireplace and it was just beautiful inside and out. Without a doubt exceeded all expectations and we will be back for sure
The view cannot be beaten. The cottage was perfect in every way. Even the bathroom was perfection with its large tub and room-sized shower. They provided lovely food and wine as well. I cannot say enough good things about this property. It was the best, hands down.
Beautiful 2 bedroom apartment in a lovely subdivision minutes out of Arrowtown, mere minutes away from the gorgeoys Millbrook golf course and walking trail. Great amenities in the apartment, comfy beds and pillows, lots of towels and very clean and well stocked.
We loved the garden setting in central Arrowtown.
Our one bedroom and bathroom apartment with separate kitchen and living area was spacious and clean. Easy parking outside. Our hostess Brenda, was helpful and kind. Outstanding!
Settlers Cottage lived up to its motto of "Old World Charm". the oldfashioned decor was so warm and friendly when many motel rooms seem to focus on being plain and functional. it was a home away from home for us.
Location was fabulous for the local area, easy to find. Great to have a free carpark. Friendly owner. We would return to this motel and would be suitable to have a friend/gamily in the same unit.
The location is superb. Quiet. Only a few minutes drive from Arrowtown. Surrounded by rugged peaks. Super spa pool. Friendly sheep... well really only interested in eating bread.
This was a beautiful small hotel with lots of attention to detail. The cheeses platter and wine on arrival with daily afternoon tea made it a real treat.
