Zakopane Ski Resort Guide
Zakopane is Poland's biggest and best ski resort. It is located south of Zakopane town, close to the Slovak border and on the edge of the Tatra Mountains National Park, in southern Poland, S of Krakow. The skiing at Zakopane is fragmented and the lift infrastructure archaic, although, reportedly, undergoing some modernization. The nearest ski slopes are 3km (2 miles) away at Kasprowy Wierch where there is high alpine skiing in two treeless bowls. Other nearby areas are Rabka, Gubalowka and Nosal.

Hi Sharon,
The best place to go with your parents is MT. Kasprowy Wierch - they can easily get there by cable car from Kuźnice (5 minuts on public mini bus from the centre of Zakopane). Another recommended places are Gubalowka (funicular from the market squere) and Szymoszkowa. If they like walking they can take a funicular up, then have a 2 km walk and take the chair lift on Szymoszkowa to go back. Have a great time in Zakopane!

If the weather changes, the season will be open as soon as possible. We have no good ski condition at the moment. Only 2 short lifts for beginners are open at the moment.
