Visitor Reviews of Wildcat Mountain

RD Jenkinson from UNITED STATES writes:

Wildcat is an old-school hill in one of the best possible resort locations in New England. Situated directly across from Mt. Washington, the highest peak in the Northeast, Wildcat experiences the famous "notch-effect" which brings inches of snow to the hill while it rains just a few hundred feet lower on either side of the Pinkham Notch. Wildcat has unique, twisting and turning trails with challenging terrain and some backcountry possibilities. With limited vertical elevation, the runs at Wildcat are longer and more enjoyable than at any other ski resort in New England because of the unique trails. With no slopeside condominiums, no fancy restaurants, and their infamously cold and windy weather, the crowds are scarce everyday. It is by far my favorite mountain in the area not only for its terrain and low prices, but also for the sense of community that is felt there. The same staff, skiers and boarders, and parking attendants year after year. A fantastic mountain and one definitely worth visiting while in New Hampshire.
