Snow advisory issued Sunday 6th July at 1am NZ time: Snow developing on Monday for the Victorian Alps and spreading steadily east. Initially snow will only settle above about 1700m but by Tuesday it will fall to resort levels. Moderate to heavy snowfalls then continuing for several more days. Snow showers in New Zealand becoming confined to eastern areas including Mt Ruapehu on Sunday and Monday. Fine and frosty weather for most areas.

10km of extensive skiing for all standards on the slopes of Krivan. Very panoramatic setting with great views from the highest slopes. Vrátna (Vratna) is located 3km from Terchová (Terchova), east of Zilina. 12 partly forested runs are served by 10 lifts and there is a night skiing operation, XC trails and snowmaking facilities. There is also a ski school and several piste-side hotels. The area has a reasonable snow record. Good apres-ski but weekend and holiday queues are possible.

I was skiing in Vratna for past 3 seasons regullary, I can see that this resort is developing. There is now terrain park with box, rainbows, king rails, kickers and 1 bigair. But usually only later in season, depends on snow conditions. The main slope is situated almost north, which doesn`t give much sun, but good snow. Upper part of resort is quite good for freeride. All the main part of resort is under tree line. This year`s new cabin lift rises hopes of all Slovak freeriders. It should be working from beginning of 2006. This resort comes definately in the to 5 in Slovakia. See ya there...
