Voss in Norway (in the West region) is a medium sized ski resort with 11 ski lifts (4 chair lifts, 5 surface lifts, 2 gondolas) that offers skiers an impressive 645 metres (2116 feet) of vertical descent. I spent two seasons in Voss (02/03 and 03/04). It is not the biggest of resorts and can be subject to maritime weather patterns coming off the Atlantic. This means that the snow can get quite heavy at anyime in the season. However, outside weekends there is very little queuing and with fresh snow it can be great. As with the rest of Norway, the locals are friendly, but it is expensive.
