Have just got back from Veľká Rača - Oščadnica and the conditions were great. Lots of great snow everyday. We enjoyed the skiing as did the kids.
We did not queue for more than three minutes at any lift. I would rate Veľká Rača - Oščadnica as a great resort for families. -

Great little resort. Good lift system, few queues. Not for the advanced rider but great for the beginner and intermediate. I've been a few times and although it is fairly low down it has always had snow. Even in 06-07 season when the Alps had none Velka was fully open. Cheap as chips to boot.

Great little resort. I've been going for the last four years as a cheap alternative to the Alps. It has it's own special charm. The snow in 07 was bad with only a few runs open but in 06 they had over 2 metres of snow and it was amazing. Powder everywhere. As you would expect it is very, very cheap. We found it hard to spend more than 100 quid each and ate and drank well every night.

We went to this resort recently for a weekend ski trip. Whilst the conditions were poor it was clear that it is a great resort and getting better.
Lots of good accommodation at reasonable prices, and cheap beer!! For a few days skiing at reasonable prices you can't go far wrong. Good quality ski hire with lift pass for approx £15.00 per day.
