Visitor Reviews of Terminillo

filiberto from UNITED KINGDOM writes:

After a very steep drive up from Rieti, you go from 450 metres to 1800 in 15 minutes you get to this resort built by the will of Mussolini some time ago. The mountain looks very alpine and you see above the trees the rocky slopes going up quickly to the 2240 metres of the tops. Some interesting short steep runs makes such a close resort to Rome an interesting skiing trip, mind it can get very windy up on this mountain. When there is fresh snow you can find few lines through the trees and this is probably the best place on the Italian Appennine for cross-country skiing. This makes the very big community of professional sport people of Rieti very happy. There is a keen Italian Alpine Skier Club (Club Alpino Italiano or C.A.I.) climbing the mountain all the time here and few people go away from the pistes to climb the mountain on their skies and descending from the tops through all the snow months. Few restaurants and hotels can accommodate you up here and also a couple of clubs organize some parties.
