Snowy Range Ski and Recreation Area Ski Resort Guide

The fairly small and family oriented Snowy Range Ski and Recreation Area is nestled in the beautiful Medicine Bow-Routt National Forest. There are four chairlifts (Sundance, Virginian, Pioneer and Chute) that will move you up the mountain. The 27 trails at Snowy Range Ski and Recreation Area serve all skiing abilities from beginner to expert: 7 beginner trails, 12 intermediate trails, 8 expert trails. Furthermore, you'll find a terrain park, although this one isn't always that perfectly shaped. A good thing about Snowy Range Ski and Recreation Area is that the vast majority of the runs are situated below the timberline. The snow conditions are usually pretty good and, compared to European snow, the snow is rather dry. Snowy Range Ski and Recreation Area is located 32 miles west of Laramie, Wyoming, in the Snowy Range mountains. Take I-80 exit 311 (Snowy Range Road) west to Highway 130, then continue west 32 miles into the scenic Medicine Bow-Routt National Forest.

Visitor Reviews of Snowy Range Ski and Recreation Area

Torak from United States writes:

My first skiing experience was when I was 14 years old. That wasn't very long ago so I still remember everything. I came to snowy range with some family and had the time of my life. Skiing turned out to be my favorite memory of my life. Snowy Range has great helpers. I took ski lessons and learned a lot. My 2nd year, my cousin and I wore these outrageous hats, which we have made an annual thing, and the person running the ski lift at the top threw snowballs at us. The next we were prepared and had our own snowballs. The staff are friendly and it was the perfect place for me to grow up learning skiing. I took to skiing right away. The trails have about everything you could ever want from them. They have bumpy and smooth trails. They have nice long relaxing ones and really fun twisty trails.
