Sixt Ski Resort Guide
Sixt, in France, is a medium sized ski resort with 6 ski lifts and offers skiers 2625 feet of vertical descent and 11 pistes. Sixt is best suited to beginner skiers and snowboarders but there is some terrain for both expert and intermediates. There are 60 kilometers (38 miles) of cross country ski trails at Sixt. Sixt is part of the Massif area along with Morillon, Samoens and Les Carroz. The Massif covers 125 kms and has 42 lifts. It it also part of the Grand Massif that includes Flaine giving the total area 265 kms of terrain and 73 lifts.

Sixt had a disastrous year last year, with the poor snow in the Alps. But his year has more than made up for it. Even at the busiest times it is uncrowded. The reds at the top of the resort are superb tree-lined runs and a brilliant way to end the day after coming down the Cascade. Great for beginners too.
