Going to Seefeld for a second time and already booked for 2008. The hotel Alpina is fantastic, the food is a joy, all top quality. Situated close to the nursery slopes and a couple of minutes walk from town. The staff are fantastic, nothing is too much for them. I don't ski so we chose it for the cleared winter walks. Use the train to get out and walk back.

I went to seelfeld for the new year last year and stayed in hotel Kalssmit. It was wonderful but the food let it down a bit. Force fed duck !!!! But apart from that I loved it and went skiing everyday. It was one of the best times of my life. It is the 2nd best ski resort I have visited. The best I have been to was Zermatt in Switzerland. Everywere you went to you could see the marvelous Matterhorn and the food was magnificent and so was the skiing. There were no pertol cars there, only cars running on electricty, so that ment the air was fresh. I also met a celebrity there!! Thanks, I'm 15 by the way.

We have just returned from a great week in Seefeld. Having stayed in the autumn, relaxing and walking, we decided we wanted to see it in the snow, and lots of snow we had. We stayed at the beautiful Hotel Seelos overlooking the village where the service was once again excellent. Lots to do, cross-country sking and snow walking instruction as well as curling. Would recommend Seefeld and the Hotel Seelos to anyone at any time of the year.

My wife and twins visited Seefeld for the first time Dec 17th 2004. Needless to say we are going again this Dec. We hope it snows in time. Forecast good.
Seefeld we found to be just what we had imagined. The hotel Kaltschmid is wonderful especally the Jacuzzi on the roof in the open air. We tried the candle light walk and enjoyed the complete contrast of Austrian simple life to snow. We thought the biggest bonus was the non Christmas commercialism until 5 days before Dec 25. I tried the Cross Country sking and picked up the knack in 3 days. Put Seefeld on your list as it is a true fairytale.

We are going for the 8th time on Thursday. Seefeld is quite simply the best all round ski holiday if you have a young family. A true fairytale village.
We always stay at the Kaltschmid as it has its own kindergarten. We ook/travel independently and children stay at huge discounts - in fact under 5's go free !! The skiing could be better but it is ideal for us. Our 6 year old will attend full time ski school this year and perhaps this gives us the option of travelling to other resorts (we have tried many) but I think we will still come back to Seefeld once a year.

Not sure where to start really, just returned from Seefeld where a wonderful week of walking up high on the mountains coupled with relaxing on a pedalo on the wildsee made for a fantastic holiday. After skiing at this resort twice I had to see it green as opposed to white and I still cannot believe the difference. Stayed at the Kaltschmid for the second time, a truly fantastic hotel with it's fourth floor swimming pool and panoramic pool.
Seefeld has to be heaven on earth whatever the season, those who have seen the view from the gschwandtkopf, rosshuette or seefelder spitze will i'm sure agree that this place takes alot of beating.
Back again next year, can't wait!!!

Stunning natural resort that we visited for the first time feb 2003.We drove via eurotunnel(book before jan for half price offers)and had no problems with the drive or resort parking.Booked hotel direct via www.tiscover.at/(the Austrian tourist board .excellent site.)Saturday is a bit busy on local roads with w/e skiers.Took my 66year old mother for 1st time(didn't ski)but asked to come again within hours of arriving. With a small train up the Rosshutte area its ideal for non skiers to experience the mountain and bars/atmosphere etc.The other two ski areas and beginners areas combine to make a loverly well groomed and run resort, for most skiers. The crosscountry ski-ing in resort adds a new opportunity for fun.All the bars resturents and hotels are of a very good standard (3-5 star.)and the natives are very friendly. The in resort ski buses are well run and punctual, and in most cases you are only mins from one of the ski areas,in some cases you can walk onto the slopes. In all a lovely 5 star resort(if a little small),we are booked for feb 2004 to stay in the Kaltschmid 4 star, looked very nice last year.(Stayed in the Astoria 5 star last year, excellerent but wanted a bit more of a central lively spot this time). We looked at alot of hotels last year so any ? ask us for an impartial veiw.

Excellent family resort. Skiing limited for advanced but superb for the rest of us!
Ski school excellent, friendly, relaxed and fun.
Three main areas to ski all accessible from the village in minutes.
Good family bars with good food, particularly at the bottom of The Schrancoff (please forgive the spelling)Lots to do for none skiers or on your day off. Regular trains into the heart of Innsbruck takes only about 20 mins for a great day out.
Casino worth a visit in the evening.
Transfer from Innsbruck airport is certainly a serious plus, takes about 30 to 40 minutes...brilliant.
All the hotels are good, everyone very friendly.
Despite it's low level (village 1200mtres) our experience of snow has been faultless,we have visited every year for the past 10 years and never seen a green field!
