Ovčárna - Praděd offers beginner and intermediate skiing on the open slopes of 1491m Mt Praděd and 1438m Vysoka Hole, the two highest peaks in the Jeseníky region. Ovčárna - Praděd has the best snow record of all Czech resorts though the openness of the high terrain makes it vulnerable to wind. There is decent accommodation right by the slopes and Ovčárna - Praděd has great cross-country trails. Weekend and holiday crowds can be a problem, especially when lower resorts are short of snow. Great views from the 162m high Praděd look-out tower.
