Rob Davies on the top of Mount Sutton, 2km south of the top of the Ohau chairlift. Popular touring routes drop into this basin towards Dumb-bell Lake, 450m below. Vast touring terrain stretches south from here but lack of any huts in the high basins limits most itineraries to short day-trips. Shame.
