- Snowfalls eased overnight as the wind swung around to the SW and as a result we have no significant increase in coverage since first lifts yesterday. Right now out the window its partly cloudy with occasional breaks of sunshine, its going to be a mostly fine day on the hill. Make sure you bring the camera up with some luck you may capture to Sea of Japan, potentially visible to the West (look back towards the lifts from the top of Yamabiko). The best skiing will be at Yamabiko early with fine quality on and off piste. When this becomes tracked the mid station lifts will be the next port of ...
- There is heavy snow falling in Akakura Champion. Not much wind here, just a light breeze. Cold. The new snow is ankle deep. All lifts are open. The pistes are in excellent condition. Off-piste has powder snow conditions!

Visitor Reviews of Myoko Ikenotaira Onsen
Nicholas Klar from Japan writes:
This resort is a bit of the beaten track, which is just part of the appeal. They have some super package deals and you get some great powder there. Search 'ikenotaira onsen' for more details or try http://myoko-nojiri.com/ski. htm. They also seem quite relaxed about skiing off-piste. I've had some awesome runs through the trees and under the chairlift and no-one has ever batted an eyelid. Highly recommended - one of my favourites.
